Shipping Information – From Our Warehouse to Your Doorstep

We take every precaution to ensure your replacement keyboard arrives in perfect working order. Below is our complete shipping process.

Pre‑Shipment Testing

Visual inspection: Each keyboard is examined for physical damage, bent pins, or broken clips.
Key‑by‑key test: We connect each keyboard to a test laptop and press every key to ensure proper response.
Backlight test (if applicable): For backlit models, we verify that all LED zones illuminate evenly.
Flex cable check: The ribbon cable is inspected for tears, kinks, or corrosion.
Connection verification: We test the connector alignment to guarantee a secure fit with the motherboard.

Only keyboards that pass all tests are approved for packing.

Packaging – Protection First

Anti‑static bag: The keyboard is sealed in an ESD‑safe bag to prevent electrostatic discharge.
Foam padding: Thick foam sheets are placed on both sides to absorb shocks during transit.
Reinforced box: The foam‑wrapped keyboard is placed in a sturdy corrugated cardboard box.
Void fill: Any empty space is filled with bubble wrap or paper to prevent shifting.
Outer label: The box is securely taped and clearly labeled with the shipping address and tracking barcode.

We use double‑wall boxes for international orders to withstand rough handling.

Postal (Standard): 5‑15 business days (tracking provided for most destinations).
DHL Express: 2‑5 business days with full tracking and insurance.

Laptop Keyboard Replacement – Step‑by‑Step Guide

Replacing a laptop keyboard requires careful handling. Below are brand‑specific instructions. Always power off your laptop, disconnect the charger, and remove the battery (if removable) before starting.

HP (Hewlett‑Packard)

Remove the keyboard bezel: Use a plastic spudger to pry up the top cover or bezel surrounding the keyboard.
Unscrew the keyboard: Locate the screws marked with a keyboard icon (often 2‑4 screws) and remove them.
Lift the keyboard: Gently lift the keyboard from the top edge, exposing the ribbon cable underneath.
Disconnect the cable: Release the ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) connector by flipping the latch upward, then slide the cable out.
Install the new keyboard: Insert the new cable into the connector, secure the latch, place the keyboard in position, and screw it down.
Reattach the bezel: Snap the bezel back into place.

Note: Some HP models have screws hidden under rubber pads or stickers – check carefully.

Dell

Remove the palmrest assembly: Dell keyboards are often secured from the bottom. Remove the bottom cover and unscrew the palmrest.
Disconnect the keyboard cable: Once the palmrest is detached, locate the keyboard cable on the motherboard and release the latch.
Remove the keyboard: Unscrew the keyboard from the palmrest (usually 4‑6 screws).
Install the new keyboard: Secure it to the palmrest, reconnect the cable, and reassemble the palmrest and bottom cover.

Tip: Dell XPS and Latitude models may require removing the entire top case – proceed with caution.

Lenovo

Remove the battery (if external): Lenovo ThinkPads often have a removable battery – take it out first.
Unlock the keyboard: Slide the locking mechanisms (often two small latches) toward the screen to release the keyboard.
Lift and flip: Gently lift the keyboard from the top edge and flip it toward the screen to access the cable.
Disconnect the cable: Release the ZIF connector and slide the cable out.
Install the new keyboard: Connect the cable, press the keyboard into place, and slide the latches to lock.

Hint: For newer Lenovo models, you may need to remove the bottom cover first to access the keyboard screws.

ASUS

Remove the bottom cover: ASUS keyboards are usually accessible from the bottom. Remove all screws and carefully pry off the bottom panel.
Disconnect the keyboard cable: Locate the keyboard connector on the motherboard and release the latch.
Remove the keyboard: Unscrew the keyboard from the top case (often 4‑6 screws) and lift it out.
Install the new keyboard: Screw it in, reconnect the cable, and replace the bottom cover.

Safety: ASUS ROG models may have additional RGB lighting connectors – be gentle when disconnecting.

Acer

Remove the bezel: Acer keyboards are often held by a bezel that snaps off from the top.
Unscrew the keyboard: Remove the visible screws (typically 2‑4).
Lift and disconnect: Gently lift the keyboard and unplug the cable from the motherboard.
Install the new keyboard: Connect the cable, screw it in, and snap the bezel back.

Note: Acer Swift series may have the keyboard glued to the top case – replacement may require replacing the entire top assembly.

Apple (MacBook)

Remove the bottom case: Use a pentalobe screwdriver to remove the 10 screws on the bottom case.
Disconnect the battery: Always disconnect the battery connector first to avoid short circuits.
Remove the keyboard: The keyboard is riveted to the top case – you will need to drill out the rivets (not recommended for beginners). Alternatively, replace the entire top case with the keyboard pre‑installed.
Professional recommendation: For MacBooks, we strongly advise seeking professional service unless you have advanced repair skills.

Caution: MacBook keyboards are extremely delicate – improper installation can damage the logic board.

Keyboard – Frequently Asked Questions & Solutions

Below are the most common issues users encounter with laptop keyboards. If your problem isn’t listed, please contact our support team.

1. Some keys don't work at all

This is often due to a faulty ribbon cable or damaged connector. First, check the cable connection – re-seat it carefully. If the problem persists, the keyboard itself may be defective and needs replacement.

2. Keys are repeating or sticking

Sticking keys can be caused by debris or liquid spills. Try cleaning with compressed air. If that doesn’t help, the membrane or scissor mechanism may be worn – replacement is recommended.

3. Backlight not working (for backlit models)

Ensure the backlight function is enabled via the function key (e.g., Fn + Space). If it still doesn’t work, the backlight circuit or the LED strip may be faulty. Check the connection – if unresolved, the keyboard needs replacing.

4. Keyboard not detected by the laptop

This usually indicates a loose or damaged ribbon cable. Reconnect the cable firmly. If the system still doesn’t recognise it, the cable may have torn traces – a new keyboard is necessary.

5. Wrong characters appear when typing

Check your language/layout settings in the operating system. If the layout is correct but characters are still wrong, the keyboard’s internal matrix may be defective – replacement is the fix.

6. Keyboard layout doesn’t match my region

Before ordering, verify your laptop’s original layout (US, UK, JP, etc.). We provide detailed photos and model numbers to help you choose the correct one. If you receive a wrong layout, please contact us for an exchange.

7. Keyboard is physically loose or has raised keys

This could be due to broken clips or missing screws. Check that all screws are tightened. If keycaps are loose, they may need to be replaced individually – but often a full keyboard replacement is more cost‑effective.
